Traveling to juried art shows is a great way for me to meet people and learn what they are looking for when deciding to purchase guitar art for their home. Many of the license plate guitars that are featured on the walls of my mobile gallery were inspired by people I've met up and down the East Coast. This past weekend, I sold my license plate wall art at the Dogwood Festival in Atlanta's Piedmont Park. I met so many people who inspired me to come home and create new artwork featuring their favorite music artists. 

Every time I asked someone who they would want to feature on their piece, it reminded me how many different musical legends there are who deserve their own license plate guitar art.

At the end of the show, I count up the votes for each artist and decide what to create next. As a result, I'll be making guitar art featuring the Grateful Dead for my next show, the TACA Spring Art Show in Nashville in May.

A Prince guitar was the winner of the popular vote at my last show in Tampa. Here's a photo of the guitar art I created, with the client who purchased it at the Dogwood Festival. 

The Dogwood Festival in Atlanta

The Dogwood Festival takes place in downtown Atlanta in a beautiful park surrounded by historic homes. I stayed in an Airbnb nearby and it turned out to be a lot of fun.

Miraculous Medal Gave Me Luck

When I arrived to set up my booth, I found a shiny metal in the dirt, picked it up and put it in my pocket. My wife, Debbe googled the picture I sent her and discovered it is referred to as the miraculous medal. As it turned out, strong storms and tornadoes were predicted to close down the show on its last day, but they passed us by. Looks like the medal worked. It'll be joining me at art shows from now on.
