John Mayer License Plate Guitar - Connecticut
Most people don’t know that Connecticut is the home of the blues. That’s actually one of John Mayer’s jokes; I just stole it. But he’s got something there. I consider John Mayer an amazing blues talent. He was an easy choice to represent Connecticut.
I used the Stratocaster shape for John Mayer because his number one guitar is a black strat. I cut and shaped about 27 license plates to create this piece.
I featured one of his biggest hits, Gravity, on the guitar face. The lighthouse tag symbolizes his lyric, “keep me where the light is” from that song. He always plays this song last at his shows. If you get the chance, go see him in concert. He puts on a fantastic show.
The two black keys on the head stock are from Michigan tags.
