The colors on this piece remind me of my favorite worn jeans. I wear them when I want to sit back and have a good time. That’s how I feel when I think of South Carolina — a place I go for sun and fun — and when I’m listening to the great-sounding music of Hootie and the Blowfish. Darius Rucker, the lead singer, is featured in a stylized license plate portrait that I placed in the center hole. I used 26 license plates and drew color inspiration from their cd to create this tribute to their musical magic.
