MerleFest Doc Watson Tribute

Acoustic, Custom Work, Music TributePeter GeigerComment

This acoustic style license plate guitar was created on request by my client, who read about me in Our State magazine. It celebrates the life of Doc Watson, an American guitarist famous for his bluegrass, folk, country and gospel music. Watson started MerleFest, written is down the neck. MerleFest is a music festival held annually in Wilkesboro, which is featured around the center hole. The face of the guitar has North Carolina tags, and spells Our Long Journey on special request from the client, in tribute to Watson's song, Your Long Journey. Ol Hoss, spelled out at the bottom of the body, is the nickname he gave his guitar. Watson appears in the center hole. His birthdate, and the day he passed, May 29, 2012, is on the key pegs. Read what my client thinks of his piece.
