A client in Texas asked me to create a series of guitars for her restaurant. I wanted the guitar to appeal to her customers, who she said were mostly students from Texas Tech. We also decided to feature the school’s mascot, Raider Red, as well as the saying, “Guns Up.”
During my research, I stumbled upon a great cartoon drawing of Raider Red created by Nathan Boyd for a friend of his in Texas. He graciously allowed me to use his drawing in the center hole of the guitar. Thanks, Nathan, for your collaboration. Working with another artist on this piece was a great experience.
