Reflecting on the License Plate Art at Rockwell Republic

I’ve come to realize that my license plate art exhibit at Rockwell Republic is like a head-on collision between American Pickers and rock n roll history. And it’s amazing how the reflective qualities of the license plates light up. I took two images, one with a flash, then without the flash. The transformation is amazing.

I used the flash on my iphone to capture the reflective qualities of the license plate art at Rockwell Republic.

My art career starts here. 2005 Ronald McDonald house says bring your Tiki Barber painting to NYC your going meet your hero and be the featured artist at the fundraiser. The night before they cancelled and said sorry we have another artist and he said he would only do it if he was the only artist in the room. I like really who’s this guy… She says Leroy Neiman. Well that was that. So I got a hold of Tiki and told him about the painting and he said send it. 2023 my son sends my a text with the Tiki painting on his set of the Tiki and Tierney show, they use it when he’s out on business. Client request they wanted a view of a 63 split window Corvette looking from the top down. The Sik Splt reference was from a license plate that was on the car. When I was asked to create this 63 split window Corvette for the Corvette Museum in Kentucky, I was truly honored. After doing my research, I decided to go with the rear image of the Corvette. I also wanted to take advantage of the highly reflective quality that the license plates have.
